Steve Highsmith, chief political correspondent for WB17 News at Ten, will be the guest speaker at the Delaware County Press Club's April 16th luncheon buffet meeting at Harrah's Chester Casino & Racetrack.

Highsmith is myphl17's Director of Community Relations and host of myphl17's community affairs program entitled In Focus.  Highsmith can also be seen on NBC10 as the host of Live@Issue, a news and public affairs show, and covering elections and politics for NBC10.

Highsmith has been on the Philadelphia news scene since 1981 and has served as the morning news anchor and news director of WCAU Radio and news anchor of the NJN Nightly News.

Active in the community, Highsmith has been honored by the National Association of Television Arts and Sciences, the Associated Press, the Radio and Television News Directors Association, and the Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters.  Highsmith serves on the Board of Directors of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Philadelphia and on the Board of Governors of the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Mid-Atlantic Chapter. He is a member of Broadcast Pioneers and is a former member of the Board of Trustees of Cabrini College in Radnor.

Highsmith is a summa cum laude of Cabrini College with a B.A. in English and Communications and attended the University of Notre Dame. He resides with his wife and two children in Bucks County.
